This year’s batch of turkeys arrived on the farm in late July. It’s amazing how fast they grow compared to the chickens. In a month’s time, they’ve doubled in size and are already feathered out.
The weather is warm enough that they’re able to brood on pasture instead of a heated brooder space. They’re thriving in the grass and are enjoying the sunshine, bugs, and grass.
I’ll admit, the title of the article is a bit of click-bait. COVID-19 has no effects on poultry, well at least not directly.

As Thanksgiving approaches each year, it’s always a mix of emotions on the farm. We’re incredibly thankful to live a great life, and for everything that we have. We are thankful for our health, our friends, our family, and our customers.

Kaylee, our youngest daughter, performed in her VPK play for Thanksgiving. She had the honor of being one of the turkeys, not just one of the pilgrims. Keep in mind, the turkeys have much more of a role in the performance- they sing the classic “Turkey Time” and get to walk around the entire seating area as they gobble and sing.
