The aquaponics experiment here on the farm is going well.
Nichel planted several of the beds and we’ve got a ton of green onions sprouting. I’m not sure how the bulb of the onion will do in a flood and drain system, but we eat the tops of them anyways.
We’ve also got really good growth on our lettuces so far. The plants are looking nice and healthy and the root system is crazy when it’s growing in the water.
If things continue to do well, I see us expanding this system quite a bit. We’ve got the room to add a ton more grow beds and I think we could likely add a few more fish tanks as well.
