For most projects around the farm, we’ve got the tools on hand. It’s not too often that we need to bring in outside help or to rent a specialized tool.
That was certainly NOT the case this weekend…
We decided to run additional plumbing and add drip irrigation lines beside our driveway. Rather than tear up a large portion of the yard by using the backhoe, we rented a Ditch Witch trenching machine. The final result was over 1300′ of ditches and one severed internet cable (sorry, Spectrum).
We’re going to put in Crape Myrtle trees along the driveway to add a nice pop of color in that area of the property. We’ve realized that there has to be a balance between functional, productive, edible trees and some that exist simply for the function of being pretty.
